The premier class in Speedway will decide the most coveted local title, the Total Sheetmetals Manawatu Superstock Championship, this Saturday 28th May at the Robertson Prestige International Speedway. This title is rich in history, with notable names including Dave Evans, Gary Parkes, Barry Podjursky, Shane Penn and Wayne Hemi all having etched their names on the silverware, the glory of winning is the ultimate! Robertson Prestige International Speedway has been home to many of the country’s fastest and most competitive Superstock drivers who are all in with a chance of winning. Local hard chargers will all have the title hopes within their grasp, but with expected visiting drivers this could be a real battle of the bravest to achieve ultimate success.
To add to the Superstock mega event - the Palmerston North PartsWorld 248 Superstock Global Challenge is one of the most hotly contested Superstock titles in the country, and always delivers spectacular racing. The 20-lap race at the end of the evening for this season's championship will invert the top 6 points scoring cars from the Manawatu Champs. This could be anyone’s title up for the taking - will team tactics come into play, or will it be flat out speed and skill that will etch the winner's name into the coveted silverware?
The carnage of the metal-crunching Stockcars will battle it out to take the prestigious title of the Machinery Specialists Manawatu Stockcar Championship, with defending champion 35p Matt Phippen looking to hold onto the accolade and complete back-to-back victories. Others within grasp of the title after a successful season and showing they are on the pace include 172p Daniel Burmeister, 76p Cameron Renwick, 45p Aaron Watson as well as Palmerston North Pumas members and current season points chaser leader 79p Kyle Rowe, 278p Kyle Taylor, 667p Hamish McLeod and 992p Taylor Lampp. The Manawatu Stockcar Championship has a rich history of past champions which makes this a title that is always hotly contested.
Minisprints are also competing for their Manawatu Championship - local heroes mixed with drivers from Wanganui and Taranaki will make for some of the best open-wheel Minisprint racing this season. It will be all on the line for one of the most sought after titles in the Minisprint class. Local drivers including 41p Daniel Nickel, 37p Nathan Jefferies and 36p Ash Emmerson are all sitting well in the season points chase and are likely podium contenders.
Rounding out a massive night at the Robertson Prestige International Speedway are the Corvettes, Camaros and Mustangs of the Saloon class making their presence known with fast and furious, doorhandle to doorhandle racing with competitors from as far afield as Auckland.

The MEGA event this Saturday at the Robertson Prestige International Speedway is one not to miss! Admission prices are $25 for an adult (16 years and over), $10 for children aged 8-15, and $60 for a family pass of 2 adults and up to four children. Kids aged 7 and under are FREE.
Tickets can be purchased from our ticket booths at Gate 1 (Waldegrave Street) and Gate 2 (Cuba Street - Bridge) Gate 3 (Cook Street) from 2:30pm. The dirt flies an earlier time of 4pm!
