The days are getting longer and that can only mean one thing - speedway is back! After a long winter break, the 2020/21 season at Robertson Holden International Speedway thunders into action on Saturday, October 24 at 6:30pm.
The midnight oil is being burned in sheds and workshops all over the country, as competitors and crews race to be ready for the summer ahead. Consequently, a line-up of opening night visitors are already confirmed, along with plenty of locals who will be determined to keep the prizemoney out of their hands.
With new cars and new drivers plus all your favorites the excitement is going to be huge night on the dirt oval. The Lucas Oil Superstock Series with a quality field of drivers wanting to make their mark on the series, along with the Quin Buildings Direct Super Saloon Showdown – these guys will set your heart racing!
It's double point’s night, which is an excellent chance for competitors to get some early runs on the board in the Travel Smart Season Points Chase. Points are awarded for a top six placing in every non-championship race throughout the season, and overall victory in any of the classes is a major achievement, and a tribute to a driver's consistency throughout the season.
Classes in action are Superstocks, Stockcars, Super Saloons, Minisprints, Sidecars and Youth Ministocks, with Fireworks closing out the show. Admission prices are $25 for an adult (16 years and over), $10 for children aged 8-15, and $60 for a family pass of 2 adults and up to four children. Kids aged 7 and under are FREE.
As the new pits are still a work in progress the only gates for entry are on Waldegrave & Pascal Streets and these gates open from 5pm, make sure you arrive early to see the drivers and their new cars!
