Fast and furious action is back this weekend with the Motor Machinists Robin Pratt Memorial Stockcar title on the line. This is one of the most prestigious titles on offer with a rich history of past legends winning the title, and it is one championship that the locals try to make sure never leaves town. Metal crunching Stockcar action at its best!
Another massive field of Stockcars are expected to do battle for the silverware, picking a winner is anyone's guess. Defending champion 992p Taylor Lampp had a stellar 2020/21 and will be keen to carry his winning run into this season. Local hard chargers including current Manawatu Stockcar Champion 35p Matt Phippen, 172p Daniel Burmeister and 79p Kyle Rowe are all in with a real chance to take the title honours for this season. This title is always hard-fought no matter who emerges triumphant, so it should be an entertaining night's racing. Click here to view previous winners.
Saloons return to the Central Energy Trust Arena in the form of Corvettes, Camaros and Mustangs racing wheel to wheel, along with the magnificent Midgets making their debut for the season with initial intention of a strong field of competitors going to be in attendance. Also making his first appearance in a Midget is Crusty Demon superstar Levi Sherwood who looked impressive in practice last week. Minisprints also make their return to the dirt with a quality field of local competitors looking forward to putting on a spectacular show for the fans. Superstocks will also shake the ground again this weekend, with many drivers looking to further fine tune their set ups - the distinct sound and raw power make Superstocks the glamour class of Speedway!
