After the weather won the first attempt, it’s going to be a massive Saturday night at the Robertson Prestige International Speedway when the most sought after Stockcar championship in the Manawatu is decided - the Craigs Investment Partners Stockcar King of the Arena.
Local drivers are still favourites to take the ultimate title and the massive $5,000 prizemoney - the largest prize pool on offer during the current season. With stirrers money and championship pride on the line, expect some of the hardest Stockcar racing to be seen this season.
1nzp Kyle Rowe, who has had a stellar season, will be eyeing another championship podium. 667p Hamish McLeod, 172p Daniel Burmeister and 45p Aaron Watson are all currently at the pointy end of the Travel Managers Season Points and in with a real chance of the podium. The battle for this title will be supreme, all tactics will come into play and the best will come out on top!
The high interest from out-of-town Stockcars drivers to compete adds to the exciting event that is the Craigs Investment Partners Stockcar King of the Arena title - the battle between different tracks will add another element of tactics the drivers will need to be aware of. A hard-fought battle will be held to find the top 32 Stockcars for the championship.
A quality field of drivers is expected for the inaugural King of the Arena Saloon Championship, adding to a packed show at the Robertson Prestige International Speedway in the form of Corvettes, Camaros and Mustangs racing wheel-to-wheel. The wide tyres and fragile fibreglass bodies add another style of Speedway racing which is proving popular not only with drivers but the spectators alike. Current Manawatu Champion 37p Paul Hosking will be looking to add another title to his successful season in the class, with fellow podium finisher 242p Ashleigh King aiming for the top step this time around.
Adding to the exciting programme is the AFC Motorcycles Sidecar Best Pairs which will see some of the country’s best Sidecar combinations pair up and battle it out. The sensational field includes new 1nzp Mike Zachan & Ben Franklin, 2nzp Jamie Moohan & Patrick Larsen, 5p Wingnut & Scott Sowry, 8p Rob Miller & Jaxon Hannan, 89p Wayne & Max Lett, 96p Mark Whye & Josh Henderson. The Robertson Prestige International Speedway has seen some spectacular Sidecar racing this season and this best pairs championship is set to deliver this high calibre of entertainment for the fans once again!
And in their final outing of the season the Historic Stockcars will jog your memory from yester-year of the good old days of stockcar racing. The Historic Stockcar class has had a massive revival in the past few years, and Palmerston North Speedway has once again become home to many famous stockcars including replicas of Dave Evans iconic machines.

Rainout tickets issued on Saturday 4th November are valid for this event, or any other event this 2023/24 season.
Admission prices are $25 for an Adult (16 years and over), $10 for Children aged 8-15, and $60 for a Family pass of 2 adults and up to four children. Kids aged 7 and under are FREE.
Tickets are available to purchase through Ticketek www.ticketek.co.nz to save standing in a queue (tickets purchased incur an additional small service fee), or on race day from Gate 1 (Waldegrave Street), Gate 2 (Cuba Street - Bridge) and Gate 3 (Cook Street) from 4:30pm. Racing Starts 5:30pm.
