You won't want to miss this exciting night for the whole family on Saturday 5th November at the Robertson Prestige International Speedway. From the metal-crunching mayhem King of the Arena Best Pairs Superstocks, the Stockcars battling it out on the track, to the Ray Tarrant Memorial for Sidecars, the impressive Minisprints racing wheel-to-wheel, the Demon Energy Ramp Demolition Derby race, add the Manawatu Standard Fireworks Spectacular and you have a recipe for exciting entertainment.
The Auto Brake & Clutch King of the Arena Superstock Best Pairs is always a highly sought-after pairs title. With Superstocks racing as a duo you will see the tactics come out and battle on the track for the title supremacy! Combining raw power with a distinctive sound, this is the pinnacle class of speedway and something you need to see!
The AFC Motorcycles Ray Tarrant Memorial trophy should draw an excellent field of Sidecars from far and wide. Ray was the announcer here at the Speedway for many years and was an ardent supporter of Sidecars. He was also instrumental in putting together the sponsorship package with 2XS in 1980, which over time has morphed into More FM.
Minisprints have provided some of the most outstanding wheel-to-wheel racing this season. With the New Zealand Championship here in February, drivers will be wanting to hone their setups and get their cars dialled in for the upcoming championship. A quality field of drivers including 8p Nathan Jefferies, 18p Daniel Nickel, 72p Elliott Heron and 81p Glen McCutcheon are all ones to watch!
Metal crunching Stockcars will be battling it out on Saturday night for the chequered flag. Side-by-side and bumper-to-bumper, the drivers are always willing to put on a show for the fans!
A field of road cars with windows and headlights removed will battle it out for the always popular Demon Energy Ramp Demolition Derby. Extra thrills and spills are provided by a ramp that must be negotiated during their travels around the Arena, along with duelling the other maniacs on the track. This is always great family entertainment and will leave you in fits of laughter!
Finishing the night with the Manawatu Standard Fireworks Spectacular, the most impressive and biggest Fireworks display in the Manawatu will light up the night sky.
