Last chance for revenge this Saturday night at the Robertson Prestige International Speedway with the Grand Finale for 2023/24, and what a season it has been! With the final night deciding the Total Sheetmetals Manawatu Superstock Champs, Machinery Specialists Manawatu Stockcar Champs, Lucas Oil SuperStock and Super Saloon Series, plus Fireworks to end the season with a bang!
The familiar sound of Superstocks hitting the dirt is an institution in Palmerston North, and a quality field of these fearless drivers are ready to battle it out for the Total Sheetmetals Manawatu Superstock Championship. This title is rich in history, with notable names including Dave Evans, Gary Parkes, Scott Miers, Jordan Dare and defending champion Jack Miers all having etched their names on the silverware, the glory of winning is the ultimate! Robertson Prestige International Speedway is been home to many of the country’s fastest and most competitive Superstock drivers who are all in with a chance of winning. Local hard-chargers will all have hopes of taking home the tiel, with Jack Miers looking to match Gary Parkes record of 4x back-to-back winnings from 1990/91 to 1993/94. Wanganui's 26v Kaelin Mooney leads the Superstock Season Points by a narrow four-point margin from 9p Brett Hyslop. The premier class in speedway will also decide the Lucas Oil Superstock Shootout Series after a round earlier in the season. The fast and spectacular racing of Superstocks is certainly the high-octane thrill that you can’t get enough of! The Lucas Oil Superstock Series 20-lap race will round out the spectacular Superstock racing for the 2023/24 season.
The carnage of the metal-crunching Stockcars will battle it out to take the prestigious title honours of the Machinery Specialists Manawatu Stockcar Championship. Defending champion, current national champion and newly crowned Craigs Investment Partners Stockcar King of the Arena, Kyle Rowe will be looking to continue an outstanding season with a current lead on the Seasons Points Chase. Add in all the local hard-chargers and what a night it will be. The Manawatu Stockcar Championship has a rich history of past champions which means this a title that is always hotly contested.
The Super Saloons are back for their season finale with the Lucas Oil Series being decided. With V8 engines and distinctive low sportscar bodies, these drivers are impressive racing wheel-to-wheel every lap! The racing is exhilarating from these drivers, and local Super Saloon drivers including 58p Peter Bengston, 27p Joe Ingram, 79p Richard Dreaver and visiting drivers including Steve & Grant Flynn from Hawkes Bay will make for some spectacular racing!
Adding to the programme are Youth Ministocks - Palmerston North registered competitors only.
