Superstocks (previously known as A-Grade Stockcars) are the glamour class of New Zealand speedway, and have delighted Palmerston North crowds for nearly 45 years. While the cars have become more sophisticated and powerful over time, the full contact nature of the racing continues to deliver entertainment to thousands of fans every weekend. Today's purpose built racecars glisten with chrome, and boast the latest technological advancements, while still retaining a strong link with their past.
Teams racing is the ultimate form of the sport, and enjoys enormous popularity, with the Teams Champs held here each February being the biggest event in NZ speedway. The all-black Palmerston North Panthers have a history and reputation no other side can match, with local teams have won 13 titles since the Teams Champs was successfully introduced in 1981.
